Marking a Trackable as Missing

Occasionally a trackable item such as a Travel Bug® or Geocoin is displayed on a cache listing on Geocaching.com but is no longer in the geocache. It is possible that another geocacher has picked it up and hasn't yet logged their find. However, if the trackable item is gone for good, it is a good idea to remove the item from the cache listing.

Both trackable item owners and cache owners can remove trackable items from the cache listing by following the instructions found in the Groundspeak Knowledge Book.

This will show the Travel Bug or Geocoin as being recently spotted in an "Unknown Location." Later, if the Travel Bug is found elsewhere, it can be grabbed by the geocacher and placed in the correct location.
