Taking readings for a New Cache How do I take new readings

Q: While I have hidden a few caches, what is the proper way to record or take readings ?

A: Depending on your GPS you may or may not be able to average readings.
If your GPS has that feature, us it and take a good 100 or more averages.
The Garmin has the Average feature and will take one reading per second.
Another method is to take three separate readings, 1 minute apart , then average them.
